Published-rate calculator

Compare landfill and transfer-station fees

Estimates from published rates — not a quote.

Choose your state, material, and load type. The calculator compares collected facilities using only the charges published in their official fee schedules.

When a schedule does not contain enough information to calculate a cost, the result is marked unavailable. Missing rates, weights, and material charges are never guessed.

Describe your disposal load

All calculated amounts come from the facility's own published schedule. Vehicle categories are not assigned assumed weights.

Only facilities with collected, source-checked fee schedules are included.

Special materials may have separate published charges or acceptance conditions.

Car, pickup, and trailer selections use published vehicle-flat rates where available. They are never assigned a guessed tonnage.

Calculation method

How disposal estimates are calculated

The calculator does not use national-average prices, estimated facility rates, or assumed vehicle weights.

Weight-based disposal

Where the facility publishes an applicable per-ton rate, the calculator multiplies that rate by the entered estimated tonnage.

When a published minimum charge applies, the greater of the weight-based amount and that minimum is used, subject to any other clearly published applicable charges.

Vehicle-flat disposal

When the facility publishes a flat fee for a matching car, pickup, or trailer category, that published amount can be compared.

If the schedule provides only a per-ton rate, the tool does not guess the vehicle's weight to produce a flat-price estimate.

Special materials

Tires, mattresses, appliances, construction debris, and green waste may be subject to separate charges or facility acceptance rules.

A charge is included in a calculation only when its published basis is unambiguous. Otherwise, the fee is shown as published without inventing a quantity or total.

Resident and non-resident pricing

Some facilities publish different prices for local residents and other customers. The calculator cannot determine residency from a selected state alone. If eligibility changes the applicable amount, the published alternatives are identified rather than silently selecting one rate.

A facility may also require identification, impose load restrictions, or accept waste only from certain jurisdictions. Review the official schedule before visiting.
